It was catching up time with a cool ex-colleague of mine, Maudy. We worked at the same company: Sogeti, for almost two years. We became friends and once in a while we meet in Amsterdam for talks, drinks en food. She knows many nice restaurants and I often call her for last-minute restaurant tips.
Maudy made a reservation at: Akitsu. It is one of the better Japanese restaurants in Amsterdam. It’s a cosy place and the service is friendly. We ordered some side dishes and we all chose a different menu. Of course, we had some hot sake with it. The fish is fresh and the dishes are of good quality. But they didn’t surprise me. In my opinion, it’s better than an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, but more expensive. I think the portions are a bit on the small side. I rate this place with a 7 out of 10.
