We found a great bakery in El Cotillo that is open everyday from 08:00-21:00. At El Goloso del Cotillo they serve good coffee and all kinds of nice bread and sandwiches. They also have many different (sweet) pies and pastries. The atmosphere is good, although the place is mostly packed with tourists and their children. After 12:00, it gets more quiet. We rate this awesome bakery with an 8.5 out of 10.
Treasure: Pena Horadada
After breakfast, we drove to Playa de los Muertos (Pirate beach). Here we made a lonely walk to the Pena Horadada. In the first part of the walk we saw some other tourists, but after 5 minutes we walked in the middle of nowhere. We could see the tire marks of big cars, however, until the beautiful rocky beach. But we enjoyed the views and the silence. It was one of the treasures that had not been taken over by mass tourism. We loved it.
Tourist crap Catela de Fusto
For dinner, we drove to Puerto del Rosario after cancelling our reservation at restaurant “15” in the awful tourist village Caleta de Fuste. We were in literally in shock, seeing the touristic villages with McDonalds and restaurants with German and English names.
Restaurant El Templero
Unfortunately, we also didn’t had success in the local eatery in Puerto del Rosario: El Templero. The service is friendly, but the dishes are crappy. The smoked salmon and Lapas (shells) were okay, but the fried eggplant and potatoes (fries) with egg were under-cooked. We didn’t dare to eat them and left the place after paying way too much money for the four starters we had. We have to rate this place with a 3 out of 10.
Note: while I am posting I am not sure if this restaurant still exists.
