Restaurant Betty’s is celebrating its 26th anniversary and we were happy to try their anniversary menu last Thursday. Personal, delicious, warm and organic vegetarian food. Just a few words that describe this great place where we had dinner with my dad.
The restaurant has only about 20 seats and is run by a nice couple. The friendly host took the time to welcome us and explain how their concept works. We immediately felt comfortable, it was like visiting a good friend who has a passion for good food. The atmosphere is down-to-earth and the visitors all seemed to enjoy the food while having a relaxed conversations.
as a first drink, the owner recommended a delicious “pear champagne” (without alcohol) to start the evening. And it was an excellent choice.
Healthy and delicious flavours
As a starter, we had a plate with several small dishes such as eggplant, pear chutney, potato cookies, home-made sambal and Brussels sprouts. It took a little while before we had our main course and drinks. So if you want a fast meal, this restaurant is not for you. Luckily, we were not in a hurry. The main course was another combination dish with pumpkin, lemon rice, beet and some small dishes to share. It was all delicious and it tasted very healthy.
Ten different pies to chose from
We were then stuffed, but the dessert was also part of the menu. We walked to the glass showcase, which displayed about 10 home-made sweet pies. I chose the white chocolate raspberry pie, my father had the chocolate pie and my wife the cheesecake. All pies were just awesome (and good-sized, so we could not eat them entirely).
We had a very nice evening at this restaurant, and I am sure we will visit Betty’s again. I rate restaurant Betty’s with a 9 out of 10.
